Nadai in the Night Market

Nadai continues to infect society within Sharn, and the Accord Keepers are investigating. It appears that House Phiarlan has been crafting magically enchanted guitar picks that can appear non-magical on command. Not only that, but they can be commanded to do so at a distance. Rosalina the Bard demonstrated this to our Accord Keepers, with the command phrase “Orange Popsicle”. It quickly became apparent that Rosalina could not speak freely in the guild about it further, but she did invite the keepers to meet her later if they could obtain enough tickets at the Night Market for VIP seating.

The Sharn Night Market is truly a wonder of the city to behold, spanning both upper and lower districts. Dozens of airships circle and spiral up the courtyard tower, offering all sorts of trinkets and treats to locals and travellers alike. Feeling peckish? At Scrumptious, Syrup & Sugar will delight you with their sweet, succulent, and spicy treats. Having a fashion emergency? Greenfoot at The Hattery will fix you up, no questions asked. Need protection from a strangely specific situation? Better Safe offers protection enchantments for absolutely anything you probably don’t really need but want to have anyway.

As our keepers visited the games at the market, Helios won a Liar’s Contest, Tilly won tickets at the dunk tank, ND311 and Henley won a literal rat race, and the whole party participated in a hot soup eating contest and a game of Telestrations. They were able to get enough tickets to secure their desired VIP seats at the concert. All visitors should visit as well; tickets earned can be spent at the “Proof of Bazaar” bazaar for a vast variety of delightfully quirky creations.

Alas, for our dear Keepers, the fun came to an abrupt end. On stage at Rosalina’s concert, someone shot two of the other contest winners with a strange Crown of Madness, killing them instantly and turning their corpses into violent puppets. The Keepers dispatched them and calmed the crowd. Rosalina was then able to discuss how she has concerns that the magic guitar picks her brother Dim creates she fears may have a more nefarious purpose. She doesn’t know much about where the Nadai in the city is going, but has noted that more magical “dead switch” item requests seem to coincide with increasing Nadai trade.

Unfortunately the Keepers failed to trace the Nadai trade, seemingly too caught up in the festivities of the night. They did uncover that the drug trade seems to be linked to these magical dead switch items. What their true purpose is and how they are linked to the drug trade remains a mystery. With that knowledge, the Accord Keepers can hopefully find out more at a later time, perhaps with a bit less revelry next time.
