LIKE SANDS THROUGH THE HOURGLASS, SO TOO ARE THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES

SHADOW MARCHES – Coordinated attacks on three seals formed by the Gatekeeper druidic order were thwarted by the quick action of the Accord Keepers, and the horrors of the far realm Xoriat were held back for another day.

A pickpocketed speech from a cultist embedded within House Tharashk highlighted three separate locations – one on the Demon Wastes, one in the Eldeen Reaches, and one in the Shadow Marches – as targets for weakening by the cults to allow their mad masters greater hold on the world of Eberron.  In a particularly insidious twist, the cultists had been aided by one Draal Dhur, a former Gatekeeper seeker who knew many of their ways and secretes before he ‘stopped listening to the wind’ and embraced the darker designs of the beings he had once sworn to combat.

The Gatekeepers, an order that can trace itself back to ages long past, has ebbed in recent years due to the horrors of the Last War and the depredations of the Cults of the Dragon Below.  Their seals, magically imbued stone foci that have kept Xoriat from becoming coterminous for over 9000 years, are targets for those who would see madness reign once more over Eberron.

Because the seals are each relatively unique in their magic, and the methods of crafting them difficult and largely lost to myth, preserving the ones that exist is the remit of the waning Gatekeeper order.  Since they cannot be everywhere at once, they often act through intermediaries, such as the Accord Keepers.  A strike team deployed to the sunken temple in the Shadow Marches to access the seal and reinforce it in synchrony with teams at the other two locations.

Upon gaining entrance to the seal chamber, the teams discovered that they could practically hear the efforts of their fellows despite the miles separating them.  Puzzling out the need to align the sands of four separate hourglasses, the Keepers fought off the aberrations that wriggled through the gap in the seal, ultimately reinforcing it and locking them away once more.
