The Truth Behind the Mist

Objectives: Our rendezvous with the Thousand Yard Stare at the Mournland border of Thrane has revealed a worrying anomaly. An arcane pylon made from the same dragonshard latticework as what we saw in Whitehearth was discovered to be constructed on top of a seal of Gatekeeper origin.
Even more concerning is that other members of the House Medani Watchers coalition across the Mournlands’ borders have reported similar findings — many losing members in pursuit of this discovery.
Creatures we encountered near the initial pylon site appeared to be of Xoriat-influence, and seem to be relaying messages telepathically to other entities deep within the Mournland.
We need to figure out what these strange pylons do, who put them here, and what the hell it is they’re calling out to.
Outcome:
Fort Zombie stands as a crumbling line against the advancing Mournland—its patchwork timbers and scarred stone more testament to desperation than defense. Captain Vora, known grimly as the Captain of Corpses, confirmed what other outposts have seen: blue flashes, sideways rain, and the border itself pushing closer. The Cyre River, once a thousand yards distant, now laps within a stone’s throw of the fort.
Guided by U-3NR through the marsh, the Keepers pressed into the mist. Hallucinations gnawed at Tilly while an unnatural opening in the fog seemed to welcome our raft forward. Within, we found the source: a lattice pylon rooted in a 40-foot rune-etched platform, its arcane threads woven into druidic ley lines. Unlike the Gatekeeper seals we’ve seen before, this design bore Carrnathi hallmarks. After careful examination the Accord Keepers were able to determine that this pylon was designed to hold the mists back, perhaps even shape the borders of the Mournland itself. Based on the apparent age of this pylon; however, this raises the question–was the Mournland ‘designed’ rather than a tragic side effect? Could the entire country have been sacrificed to full the soul forge and the Mournland mists just be a result of that cataclysm?
The unraveling of its threads drew swift reprisal. A death tyrant tore itself from the clouds, only to be felled in a single devastating strike by Tilly, striking unseen for a blow that split the creature from the sky. With the lattice undone, the pylon erupted in a pulse of purple light. In its wake, a lone enemy cried out a chilling promise: “The Glowing Chasm will have its revenge.”
