Objectives: Investigate the catacombs beneath Atur, Karrnath, to follow up on two necromancers who were involved in the soul harvesting phenomenon seen during the Awakening.
Outcome: After obtaining a map and intel, we found the workshop of Magistor Thalor Venz and Maldran Thule, where they seemed to be fusing machine and flesh together. They accidentally fused themselves together and we dispatched the abomination. We learned about a project called the Divinity Forge, linked to house Cannith, that converts souls into arcane fuel, as well as suggestions that mass Cyran deaths were engineered for soul harvesting.

As Bella kneels beside a glowing pool of souls and recites the incantation to release them, she says a prayer to them.

“Deep beneath Atur, in this city consumed by Mabar’s darkness, we pray to Boldrei to shine her light and warmth upon these lost souls. 

“May her hearth be a guiding beacon, offering protection from the Keeper and guiding you to Dolurrh so you may rejoin the Sovereign Host. Do not fear it, for Boldrei and the rest of the Host embrace all their children unconditionally, and you will be welcomed into ascension.

“It is wrong that you were trapped and abused by those who would use your death to beget more death. Go and be free, and rest assured that we who survive will work to bring an end to this unholy rite and protect all the remaining living souls of Eberron. You are no longer bound by the mortal chains that entrapped you.

“May you find clarity and enlightenment beyond any that mortal minds can comprehend. Leave behind this material plane and embrace your reward. It is the inevitable way of things, and it is not to be feared. Go in peace and love.”
