Keepers: Baldwin, Tilly, Hekate, Helios, Bella
Objectives: Investigate the bombing in Aundair.
Outcome: We travelled to Fairhaven and investigated the large bridge that was bombed. We learned this caused a Silver Flame delegation from Thrane to be rerouted. Tracing back their detour to the town of Redvine, we found the town guard slaughtered. Rushing to intercept the delegation, we were attacked and downed by a samurai called Jetstream as Sundowner and Monsoon took out the delegation. Helio’s credentials were stolen as the party was knocked out and planted on a body downstream. The Keepers were interrogated and confined to quarters for the rest of the week.

A folded up letter was found in the alley outside the Accord Keepers barracks:

To whomever finds this missive, please send this to the Observer, and please understand the truth of what happened in Aundair last week. My name is Bella, and I was one of the Keepers who witnessed the spectacle and am currently under house arrest. I assure you that Helios, and the rest of the Keepers organization, is innocent.

We arrived in Fairhaven and inspected the bridge that had been bombed. We learned there were no civilian casualties. The damage was very unique. The stone foundations of the bridge had been cut prior to the explosions going off, and according to witness reports the charges were likely from khyber shards. The only clear witness was a drunkard named Ignacio who described an exploding and reintegrating warforged as well as a samurai who sliced through the large stone foundations. It seemed like an unbelievable story, but it turned out to all be true.

A Silver Flame delegation from Thrane was detoured as a result of the bombing. We decided to try and intercept them as they were the only target that made sense. We travelled through the night and arrived in Redvine, where we noticed a distinct lack of city guard. We took watch in a church near the river to watch the bridge. What we discovered instead was a disembodied head floating through the city. It guided us to discover the dead bodies of the local city watch. I won’t describe their state in detail, but it was a pure massacre, some of the most gruesome gore I have ever had the misfortune of seeing.

In the morning we set off to try and intercept the delegation to protect them from danger. We were there trying to save them, not kill them, but we were too late. We met the samurai, who became known to us as Jetstream, and warforged, called Monsoon, as well as a familiar face from the Nadai warehouses in Sharn: Sundowner.

We fought Jetstream. We fought him hard, but he parried our attacks with an uncanny ease and before too long we were down. Only Tilly crawled off, and she said that Jetstream stabilized us. We didn’t understand why until Helios realized his papers were gone. That’s when we learned that they had been planted on a body downstream. Please understand, we never even made it to the delegation. We saw them be attacked, but we were not able to defend them nor ourselves. 

Dear reader, even if you are skeptical of my account, please understand this: I do not know for whom Jetstream and his cohorts work for, but they plainly stated they were looking to start war for war’s sake. The Nadai madness, this attack, it’s all linked. They are profiting off war and want to break the peace. We must not let them. By Boldrei, we must stand with our families, our neighbors, our brethren, and we must not let violent instigators win. We must look at the big picture and hold our ground. I know events of recent weeks have been frightening, but we must be strong.

Be alert, but also be of service. Stay on your guard, but also stay close to your community and stand together. Support your neighbors. We have many backgrounds but we are all citizens of Khorvaire. The great shadow of the Mournland is a testament to what happens when we are divided. No matter what happens in the weeks to come, we must remain united, we must remain strong, we must remain together, and we must stand against those who would divide us.
