Mission: Back to the Keep (C2S9)

Objectives: We’ve just got word that a goblin army has been amassed in Darguun and is marching through the Marguul Pass into Sterngate. We don’t know what’s aggravated the nation into attacking, but it appears to be a coordinated strike at the border while Breland’s armies are out in the outskirts of Kennrun.

 We have only hours to prepare our defenses and ensure the fortress holds out until our allies arrive from the east.

 Muster what you can and brace yourselves. We cannot let this bastion fall.

The Army of the Nations in Kennrun has retaken the fortress, with moderate losses. You’ll be helping to relieve the previous team of Accord Keepers in New Cyre with new reinforcements coming in from-

 You receive a sending from Zed while approaching New Cyre Change of plan. Just talked to Tanarion. Goblins from Darguun are marching on Sterngate. Take that army over the mountains. Sterngate needs reinforcements right now!

 Well, looks like we’re going there instead.

Outcome:

In a swift response to a goblin army marching from Darguun through the Marguul Pass, Gatekeeper forces reinforced Sterngate’s defenses and successfully repelled the coordinated strike.

Preparations were rapid but effective: trenches were dug, ramparts greased, and barbed wire set to slow enemy advances. Archers rained arrows down on the approaching horde while disciplined soldiers held critical choke points, risking their lives to prevent a mechanized war machine from breaching the wall. Khale commandeered the contraption to neutralize its threat, while Sam Helfen and T’ggar delivered critical strikes to down flying enemy commanders.

Despite repeated enemy surges and team members being knocked down in rapid succession, the Gatekeepers maintained the line. Casualties were limited, and only minor incursions occurred within the fortress walls. The defense of Sterngate stands as a testament to the Keepers’ coordination, bravery, and strategic acumen.

The goblin advance has been halted, for now, but vigilance remains paramount as the reason for the attack still remains unknown.
