Project Ray and Potential Ally
Mission: Red Sun Rising [WEEK 2/2] (C2S5)
Keepers: John G(Helios), George (Baldwin de Lysiugnian), Jenna (Starlet), Casey (Tilly d’Kundarak She/Her), Katt (Belladonna Tanglefoot)
DM: Mike (Abernathy Darwin Dunlap)
Objectives: Red Sun Security Solutions appears to be a private security firm based in the Principalities. Strangely, they have no history of military engagements or clients on record. Furthermore, they were formed after the accords were signed, and the layers of shell corporations and dead end LLCs make it impossible to track down a CEO or board of directors, even for me.
We might have to pay their HQ a visit and get to the bottom of things. Let your credentials do the talking and find out what you can. Exercise extreme caution, Keepers.
Outcome:
In the aftermath of their daring infiltration of Red Sun Security’s island fortress, the Gatekeepers’ escape took an unexpected turn: a personal confrontation with the enigmatic warrior known as Jetstream.
Intercepting the team as they attempted to withdraw, Jetstream pressed them not with blades but with questions — why they fought, what the Accord Keepers truly stood for. Their reply, that they were weapons wielded for peace and the defense of the helpless, seemed to strike a chord. Still, he insisted on a duel to seal their escape. In a clash of blades, Operative Starlet bested him, leaving Jetstream bloodied. In turn, he left behind his finely-crafted prosthetic arm and a leather journal, before vanishing into the shadows.
The Gatekeepers’ return path was marked by the bodies of slain mercenaries — their escape seemingly cleared by an unseen hand. A single message carved on their vessel read only: “Be seeing you.”
The journal revealed a map marked deep in the Blade Desert, along with a key card. Meanwhile, hints of Jetstream’s past emerged. A woman named Verkonna sought her lost son, Minuano — a boy stolen in wartime, raised for violence. She was later revealed to be no ordinary mother, but an ancient wyrm who had claimed Jetstream’s father, a blacksmith of Avalenesence, as kin. From her came the truth: Jetstream was only ten when taken by House Karrnath, his father slain in the village’s defense.
The sword Jetstream bore, a katana of singular craftsmanship, was revealed to have been forged by that same father. It resonates only with Jetstream’s arm, and now rests in the hands of the Keepers.
Then came the fire. From afar, operatives witnessed a blazing orange glow on the horizon where the island fortress once stood. Verkonna herself later confirmed what many suspected: Red Sun had evacuated, weapons and titans alike, before Sundowner and the wyrm ensured the island was reduced to ash.
The Red Suns remain at large, their projects moved elsewhere, their ambitions unchecked. Yet with each encounter, the shadows around them take on sharper edges: Jetstream torn between past and purpose, Sundowner ruthless and unyielding, Merrix d’Kannith tied to their schemes, and a greater weapon, “Project Ray,” looming in the desert sands.
