Oops we let out a Lich and History is very Different to what has been told by the Redacted

Objective: Investigate a Mage Tower Associated with the Closed Circle following the events of the Awakening. Find evidence of what has remained connected to the actions of those who used to occupy the tower.

Outcome: A New Cliffy Touches the Beacon. The undead essence of the original founder of the Closed Circle appearing to be Elven Lich of Karnathian Origins is now somewhere within Khorvaire after tempting Ratha. The Esoteric Order of Aureon Lied during the events of the sacking of the tower. They prevented the guild from entering the tower, disintegrated anyone in their way, took the findings of the closed circle and performed a very high grade modify memory upon all guild members present to believe they events happened as they were told. Remaining Closed circle members became EOA members a la Operation Paperclip.

We arrived at the Tower and began to see signs that some of the wards were beginning to fade following time and the battle that had taken place many years before. There was a circular structure that corresponded to the nine schools of magic. Our first initial input was wrong and unleashed illusion magic to make the area appear that we had just teleported to the precipice of a volcano. Once a spell was cast on each piece it would hold the charge. On the second input we were able to gain entry to the tower and were greeted by the cracked crystal projection of the caretaker Warforged known to his new friends as “Cliffy”.

We soon had to prove our status as Closed Circle Members through a puzzle that embodied the Parable of Eberon’s creation. Boom Boom managed to put the information together and solve the puzzle quite handily so we were let inside the library. We were then able to see the last books that had been checked out including the Karnathian measures of soulwarding, a soul Prism, the soul Crucible ( later Identified as Project Divinity), and extracting the essence of a soul to leave only a husk. We also found the last person that had viewed these records was Redacted [[Master Archivist Taelios Vaun]]. With this information we went further in and found a room full of broken memory crystals. The next room was filled with Warforged chasis that had nearly all been husked with their ocular diodes missing or appearing burned out.

We then found a room suffused with eyes and teeth, Each step awoke more eyes to act as a defence mechanism to protect the memory to reality chamber. Any object summoned into the final room due to a resource would be brought into reality and briefly explored. The first attempt saw us experience a memory then the crystal broke and it couldn’t be viewed anymore. We then viewed the first contract between the founder of the Closed Circle and and other worldly entity of eyes and teeth much like the eyes watching us within the room. The elven mage spoke softly to Ratha until we could realize she was speaking to an entity and we could tell it was trying to barter with her for potentially simple feats that had to be agreed to or for her to a warlock under their influence. I called upon the eyes to the grave to see the Karnathian Lich Like appearance of the elf drawn thing over a bony form as he receded out of the room with none of the defenses assailing him. We then summoned the head of Cliffy’s husk to us and restored him to his entire remembered form before he was made a husk. We then had to find the false memory to not become permanent fixtures within the towers.

That is when we pierced the illusion on the day of Fire EOO didn’t come as alliance of magic users to quell a dangerous threat with the Guild of Starlight. They instead cut a path of disintegrations through any to unwilling to bow to the EOO, kept the guild out took all the research and kept the key researchers on as members of the EOO and wiped the occurrence of that day in full from the minds of the guild members at that time to remove doubt and suspicion on that day.
