My Brother’s Keeper (C1S7)
My Brother’s Keeper (C1S7)
DM Rj (Tanarion d’Tharashk)
Keepers: Ben (Ina), Alan (T’ggar), Christian (Asher d’Deneith), Matt P (Hollywood) [He/Him], Abby (Sasha Novikov d’Phiarlan), Michelle (Tinkersdam)
Objective : Follow Zaehir – the Council’s Aashta leader discretely across Sharn to see if he does anything to implicate himself in the happenings of the Dragon Below.
Outcome: Clandestine monitoring of Zaehir implicating him & the Master Archivist of being within the Closed circle. Ruining Zaehir’s speech causing people to leave the cult, light property damage, and him to be arrested by his own men.
We bought various disguises to hide our appearances from Zaehir as many of us had met him before and didn’t want to spook our Quarry. He first met with the Keepers leadership and swiftly left we followed him to his next appointment. The next appointment was with the leader of the EOO and archmagi of the university. With a keeper invisible during the meeting it was made clear the Master Archivist was actually quite high up within the cult. He gave an assignment to Zaehir to speak to members of the cult in an clandestine rally that evening. Unfortunately for him Sasha managed to slip the speech from his pocket before he left the room and re-group with the rest of the team.
From that point on Zaehir and his three guards were very alert to get down unto the lowest levels of sharn to be able to move without eyes watching them. With a few close calls we were able to get to the meeting place and pick up out closed circle branded robes in one of four different colors. We then made it our mission to undercut the speech in every possible without getting caught.
Zaehir is an adept hunter but not as skilled as an orator especially when cult members are asking when they get benefits or should unionize, the speaker device seemed to be silent repeatedly at passionate moments, a merch table caught fire, some mosh pit occurrence happened and most of all when a very believable Zaehir appeared with the speech in hand. Reprimanding his guards for having an imposter walking around with them all day. The ruse held and no teleportation was on the table as imposter Zaehir was bound and gagged. With sufficient evidence collected the three guards, the real Zaehir (T’ggar) and ourselves transported the imposter back to the shadow marches to be able ascertain their fate through the input of other guild leaders and away from the Ashta clan.
