Drug-dealing Artist Successfully Captured!
Keepers: Gregorius Redmagic, Barnelbus Caprenicus, Jinnis d’Kundarak, Xander, Sasha Novikov d’Phiarlan
Objective: Security Detail at a fundraiser, for the purposes of battling a dangerous drug cartel
Outcome: We arrived at the party, looking quite fantastic, and began to greet the guests. Barnelbus saw that Gia Ima was already getting to work on the dance floor, and the two of them put on an impressive dance that held the entire room’s attention. Barnelbus then took Gia aside to give her a break from dancing, a decision that would later allow her to escape a kidnapping attempt.
Xander spent his time talking to the sculptor, Yonav Ish, giving him the courage he needed to attend the party. The rapport he went on to establish with Yonav would ensure his assistance in dealing with the situation that followed.
After a quick drinking game, we went on patrol for suspicious activity, and sure enough, we found some. Without going into the drama between Vivian and Remma, I eventually decided that we should inspect the statues that Yonav had sculpted for this event, and thanks to the stellar craftsmanship of our dwarf artificer, Jinnis, we were able to tell that Yonav’s sculptures had been tampered with by an inferior artisan, and were used to smuggle drugs.
This inferior artisan turned out to be none other than Fred Derrick, who was working for the drug cartels the whole time! After capturing him, I conducted a thorough interrogation before turning him over for further questioning. Fred had attempted to frame Yonav by tampering with his statues, and he had also attempted to kidnap Gia and to defame Lucy Louv and Helder Skrin. It turns out he was working with a traitorous member of House Orien, an unnamed man who was likely working with a different house. Perhaps further questioning will reveal additional information.
We were able to successfully thwart every one of Fred Derrick’s schemes, capture him alive, and acquire valuable intelligence information, so this mission was a resounding success in every way. I did the best I could to try and ensure that we all took our jobs as security seriously, and it paid off.
