New Kids on the Block-Keeper: Toryn
NBHK, my second report has little of substance. My team’s handler for this mission, Abernathy, sent us to survey the City of Sharn so as to familiarize ourselves with its layout and quirks. We worked our way from the top down, taking a Gondola up to the Hanging Gardens before jumping down to Lower Dura using feather fall tokens to get a meal at a delicious sandwich restaurant called Luigi’s. Some of the plants in the hanging gardens glow, but it is unknown whether that is the result of magic or bioluminescence. While waiting for our food, we encountered a strange creature calling itself Colin Robinson whose sheer mundanity seemed to drain our strength. I am uncertain if this was a supernatural entity or merely a supremely boring individual, but I will document further encounters. After eating at Luigi’s we were accosted by several members of a “Clan Boromar” that were upset with us for apparently stealing their booth within the restaurant. As a result, we were forced to combat them. Thankfully, we were able to do so without the use of lethal force, despite the fact that fellow keeper Sollyn seemed unnaturally eager to end their lives. I will keep an eye on her in the future.
The bard of our group was suddenly invited to Middle Dura to perform last minute at a young woman’s quinceƱera. The rest of our group accompanied him due to the suspicious nature of the request, but ultimately the situation merely involved some upper class familial drama. The bard was paid for his services with a bottle of champagne and we made our way back down to Lower Dura and the cogs to continue our exploration of the city. Down there we narrowly avoided an encounter with several massive spiders before finding our way to a group of goblins known as the cheddarmancers. Bartering with our bottle of champagne and a sandwich from Luigi’s, we got several delicious wheels of cheese in return before making our way back up to the surface. On the way back to Middle Tavic’s Landing to return to our office, we encountered a lost dog. The aforementioned Keeper, Sollyn, took a liking to this dog and hoped to keep it. Unfortunately for her we encountered a detective that was looking for the dog, and he returned it to its rightful owner: Chappell d’ Roan. The detective was a warforged named Murphy Law, and he seemed like a distinctly hard-boiled fellow. The Keepers will be seeking out his services if we have mysteries to solve in the future. Distraught over the loss of “her” dog, Sollyn insisted on stopping at an animal shelter on the way back to Abernathy, where she picked up a horrid little creature called a Tummyacher. I hope it is not as dangerous as it’s containment measures suggest, or the keepers may find themselves all devoured in the night.
I have been informed that starting tomorrow our work will begin in earnest, my next report will surely contain information of more value.
