Love in the Time of Dinosaurs
Love is in the air at Arawai’s Festival Day, in many more ways than one may initially perceive. It appears that some of the dinosaurs at the sky parade hosted by House Vidalis were seeking more lust than love, as they started to listen to their loins more than their handlers. Fortunately, the Accord Keepers were in presence and were able to help wrangle the rampaging reptiles.
As it turns out, the Broken Heart Gang was lacing confetti cannons with a new drug. A local drug dealer called Heartbreak Hans had recently sold a bunch of Passion’s Embrace to the gang, who had recently come into some wealth. Word on the street is that one of the other houses may be financing them, but that is merely speculative at this point.
Do not scorn Heartbreak Hans too much. Passion’s Embrace by itself is not enough to cause dinosaurs to go mad and passerby to fall asleep. Keepers Ratha and Sasha infiltrated the gang’s hideout, where they learned the gang was extracting “demon’s juice” from a demon named Astarion and combining it with Passion’s Embrace to create a new drug: Nadai. In the process, Ratha drank some of Astarion’s blood and became entranced by him and insisted on rescuing the demon from his imprisonment.
In the process of escape, conflict ensued and Ratha unfortunately was killed. ND311’s fire sprite, Scorch, ended up blowing up the gang’s hideout and consuming some Nadai in the process, causing him to grow large and act out of sorts. The demon Astarion was blown to bits in this explosion but still was alive. Unable to save Ratha, the rest of the Keepers agreed to help Astarion put his body back together in exchange for him reviving Ratha. Ratha came back, but she said she felt different, though she didn’t know why. Who knows what the long term effects of this demonic deal are, but the Keepers have now uncovered how one strain of Nadai is produced and that there may be someone interested in taking out House Vadalis. Time and investigation will reveal who is financing the gangs in Sharn and trying to sow chaos amongst the populace.
