2.Objective find the VIP that is targets to be assassinated due to presumed Connection to House Cannith.
3. Outcome: Protected the VIP and managed to get some of the Assassins to surrender.
With the Accord Keepers being rather a new organization our team stuck to using our employment and house credentials for getting access to various part of the train to conduct our search. We met a helpful Lead chef and server for the journey named Bertrand man of fine culinary skill and hospitality. His current rotation of sous chefs were quite nervous about our presence moving through the kitchen to the additional cars. We managed to reach the final car that had a wide variety of animals en-route to Sharn for the latest zoo instillation. Xtopher Robin quickly made a connection to the various animals which then got the animal handler’s attention. Through the exchange of the codeword with the VIP present we then had the task to attempt to spring the assassination early instead of the intended time or having the lightning rail de- coupled .
Paulon d’Orien managed to lay a snare shortly into the livestock container to suspend any unplanned visitor as well as infusing a disguise self potion. We had Cinq consume the potion and become a perfect illusion of the VIP except they had a warforged chassis and maul strapped to their back. I applied a warding bond to share the strikes between us to hopefully find and subdue the assassins. Once we walked back through the kitchen with a disguised Cinq as the VIP being arrested, all the Sous Chefs drew their knives and it was apparent that Bertrand wasn’t on their side as he dived into cover.
The fight broke out focusing on Cinq and my self sharing hits until a perfect strike on Cinq translated into my armor nearly cracking and I broke the connection, In all that noise one assassins broke away and set off the snare trap to be stuck there for the remainder of the encounter. With the fight violently ending by two of the assassins being hit into a live kitchen implements and meeting a brutal end. I understand we are sometimes pushed for survival in fights but there are levels and rules even for us as we approach these duties.
As I have been on the lightning rails again and run into the actual crew members the trauma of that day in the kitchen is still very real to them as they have to return there daily. Lets all do best effort to keep the peace the best we can I think we are all quite done with war if we can help it. Outcome: With two assassins meeting a grim end, the remaining assassins surrendered and even managed to be helpful in their attempts to get their story straight on who hired them to accomplish the hit. They were much smaller that the crew that had ordered the rush liquidation order of 5 presumed targets. Here’s to trying things out in Sharn and not having to do much Karnathian necromancy along the way when we fail.
Welcome to the accord keepers!
